What: Benefit Concert for Redwood Family Center

Where: Gallo Center for the Arts, 1000 I St., Modesto

Info: Christian recording artists JJ Heller and Brandon Heath will perform in a concert to benefit the Redwood Family Center. Tickets start at $35. The Modesto-based Redwood Family Center provides a faith-based clean and sober living environment for women and women with children in order to equip themselves with the life skills necessary to become self-supporting members of society. It serves 50 women and children at two sites, runs a treatment center and offers graduate housing.


What: Latino Community Roundtable Luncheon

When: Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: The Red Event Center, 921 Eighth St.

Info: Guest speaker Guadalupe Ferreyra, Partnership Specialist, US Census Bureau. Ferreyra will discuss the opportunities and serious challenges the US Census is facing trying to count community member in the underserved areas of Stanislaus County. Mexican buffet served. Info: The community around Mancini Park is invited to attend a community meeting to learn about the apportunity to revitalize the park. There is currently a grant that the City of Modesto, Parks and Recreation department is trying to apply for but needs community involvement in the process. For more information contact Joel H. Info: Vicki Rice, Recycling Coordinator for the City of Modesto, will present a program on recycling for the city. Rice is responsible for administrating recycling awareness and creating partnerships. What: Annual Diggins Tent Town 1852

Info: Columbia State Historic Park will present “Diggins Tent Town 1852,” the park’s annual living history event sponsored by the Friends of Columbia and Columbia State Historic Park. More than 150 costumed volunteers create the environment of an 1850s mining camp. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., admission is $10, $2 4 through 12, free ages 3. There is no charge for parking. What: UCCE Polystyrene Collection Days

Info: The UCCE Tuolumne County Master Gardeners will be holding a drop off event for clean No. 6 Polystyrene. Make sure to remove tape, tags, labels, etc. They will also be accepting clean, colored polystyrene food containers.
