Man struck by train in Modesto dies
A 60-year-old man died Saturday night when he was struck by a train in downtown Modesto.
The man laid down on the tracks on K Street between Eighth and Ninth streets and was struck by a Union Pacific train just before 9 a.m., said Modesto Police Lt. Brandon Gillespie.
The man’s death is being investigated as a suicide. His identity and city of residence were not available Sunday.
