Modesto-area temperatures to hit mid-90s by Friday

It looks like the unseasonably mild weather we’ve been enjoying over the past weeks is on its way out for at least this week. By Friday and Saturday, highs are expected to be in the mid-90s.

Today should bring a high near 85, according to the National Weather Service. That’s just a bit higher than the average temperature for this date, 83 degrees, according to Modesto Irrigation District weather records, and far lower than the record high for May 26 – 102 degrees, set in 1951.

Wednesday’s high should be near 88 degrees, rising to 90 on Thursday, 94 Friday and 95 Saturday.

Sunday should be a bit cooler, at 90 degrees, dropping back down to an expected high near 84 on Monday.
