Chance of showers in Modesto yields to a bright weekend

Thursday’s mostly cloudy and cooler weather will make way for a warmer and sunnier weekend, but not before possible showers on Friday.

There’s a 20 percent chance of showers, but it’s likely to add up to less than 0.10 inches. The day looks to be not much warmer than Thursday, with a predicted high of 74, compared with 72 on Thursday. The 20 percent chance of rain carries into Friday night.

The weekend is shaping up to be mostly sunny, with a high near 80 on Saturday, rising to the low 80s on Sunday.

For your Memorial Day picknicking, Monday again should be sunny, with a high around 82 degrees. Those low to mid-80s daily high temperatures are expected to continue well into next week.
