Riverbank planner to speak on growth at luncheon Tuesday

City Planner John Anderson will join business leaders at a luncheon in Riverbank on Tuesday to speak on current and future growth opportunities within Riverbank and how they may impact the local economy.

The Chamber of Commerce asked Anderson to speak because of the continued development of Riverbank’s commercial and residential communities, including a new IMAX theater for Galaxy Theatres Riverbank Luxury+ and expansion of the Crossroads at Riverbank shopping center at Oakdale and Claribel roads.

“There is so much opportunity now and into the future for growth in our business markets,” Riverbank chamber President Jerry Van Houten said in a news release. “Crossroads continues to thrive, homes are being built, businesses are growing, Galaxy is expanding – it’s a good time to be part of Riverbank’s rejuvenated and revitalized community.”

Anderson has been instrumental in creating a positive image of Riverbank, while building partnerships among economic, political and community leaders, the chamber news release said. During the luncheon, attendees will learn of the role he plays in continuing to create a business-friendly climate, as well as some of the strengths and challenges the city can expect in the years ahead.

The self-serve, public luncheon will be held at noon at Perko’s Café in Riverbank, 2120 Patterson Road. Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP to chamber board director Jake Harless at (209) 869-8100.
