Modesto in for a comfortable week growing cooler as days pass
Some like it hot. The rest of us, not so much. If you’re among the latter, you’re going to like this week.
Today should be as warm as it gets, with a predicted high near 82, according to the National Weather Service. Compare that to the record high recorded by the Modesto Irrigation District for May 4 – 97 degrees in 1990.
Tuesday should be much the same as today, perhaps a degree lower. The cooling trend will continue, with Thursday’s high predicted near 76 degrees and a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m.
Friday will bring a slight chance of showers and a high near 75.
The weekend will end on a warmer note, with a high near 79 on Saturday and 82 on Sunday. That day again will bring a chance of rain.
