Congregation says Shalom on Sunday
The 47th annual Cafe Shalom will be held Sunday at Congregation Beth Shalom in Modesto.
The brunch includes lox, bagels, cream cheese blintzes, noodle kugel, fruit salad, coffee and orange juice.
“Back again this year is our fabulous bake shop with homemade delicacies including rugelah, strudel, mandelbrot, macaroons, honey cake and much more,” said Joyce Gandelman, vice president of the board of directors. “A Middle East marketplace made up of local vendors will greet you as you enter the CBS grounds, accompanied by music from local artists. Students of the religious school, the beneficiaries of the Cafe Shalom proceeds, will entertain the audience beginning at noon with Israeli dancing.”
The event also includes an art fair, raffle and silent auction. Doors open at 9 a.m. and meals will be served until 2 p.m.
Tickets for adults are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. A child’s plate is $8.
