NUMBERS SHOW THAT MODESTO’S GOT LOVE
Love Modesto organizer Jeff Pishney on Thursday shared some numbers from the April 18 community improvement project:
▪ 4,000-plus volunteers
▪ 90-plus projects
▪ 14,000-plus volunteer hours
▪ 60-plus churches participated
▪ 30-plus schools participated
▪ 420 illegally posted signs were removed throughout the city
▪ 6 apartment/home makeovers
▪ 80 parks, trails, creeks and rivers cleaned up
▪ 33 nonprofits benefited from service
▪ 11 projects benefited adults and families in need
▪ 5 projects focused on area youth
▪ 10 retirement/convalescent homes loved
▪ $250 given by Hill Media Group to Redwood Family Center (the chosen nonprofit by the Love Modesto Text Campaign winner, Florence Hunnicutt)
CHILD SUPPORT AGENCY GETS AWARD
The Child Support Directors Association of California recently recognized the Stanislaus County Local Child Support Agency with its Outstanding Program Award for 2015. The award goes to the county that exemplifies program excellence in overall performance and service, according to a news release from the county. CSDA is the nonprofit association representing the local child support directors of California’s 51 counties and regions. The Stanislaus agency has a caseload of more than 29,000, serving more than 110,000 customers. The agency collected more than $48 million in fiscal year 2014 and had a cost-effectiveness rate of collecting $3.49 for every $1 expended.
