Subaru gives Center for Human Services nearly $19,000
Modesto Subaru participated in the automaker’s 2014 Share the Love program last winter and selected Center for Human Services as the dealership’s hometown charity.
Share the Love ran Nov. 20 through Jan. 2 and let Subaru retailers select charities in their communities to be included in a list of organizations shown to new car buyers. Charities selected by buyers received a $250 donation from Subaru of America.
On April 16, Subaru of America joined Modesto Subaru in presenting Center for Human Services’ staff with a check for $18,973.
Kate Trompetter, marketing and public relations director for CHS, said, “General donations like these make such a difference for us, especially when a local company raises the funds on our behalf. This money will go directly to programs for youth and families and make an immediate impact.”
In the past six years, Subaru of America has donated $35 million to a number of charities through the Share the Love campaign. The seventh annual program delivered donations to four national charities: ASPCA, Make-A-Wish, Meals on Wheels Association of America and the National Park Foundation. The Center for Human Services was the fifth, local, option.
CHS was established as a local nonprofit in 1970 to serve youth and families. Currently, it serves tens of thousands of children, individuals and families annually in Stanislaus County through six core program areas: mental health services, shelter services, youth services, school-based services, substance abuse treatment and family resource centers.
