Ceres gopher snake given new home at shooting range
Ceres police on Tuesday detained a 3-foot-long gopher snake found in the backyard of a home in the 1100 block of Moonlight Drive.
Animal Control refused to respond, so the resident called 911, according to police.
Officer Jeremy Caron, with the assistance of his shift partners, captured the large gopher snake.
Caron took the snake to the department’s shooting range, where it was let loose with the hope it will address the gopher problem there.
