Authorities release name of man in deadly pickup crash with trailer in Turlock

Stanislaus County coroner officials on Monday released the name of a 28-year-old man who died Saturday night when a pickup crashed into a parked trailer in Turlock.

Antonio De La Torre, of Turlock, was pronounced dead at the crash site along Fifth Street, near D Street. The wreck was reported about 11:15 p.m. Saturday, according to the Turlock Fire Department.

Firefighters arrived at the crash site and found the pickup wedged underneath the parked big rig trailer. The firefighters spotted De La Torre entangled inside the pickup, fire officials said.

Using equipment, the firefighters lifted the trailer and pulled out the pickup. The firefighters then used heavy extrication tools to reach De La Torre inside the crashed pickup. Once the firefighters got inside the pickup, paramedics determined he was dead.
