Applications sought for District 6 Dairy Princess contest
The 11-county California Milk Advisory Board District 6 is accepting applications from teens and young women wishing to compete for the Dairy Princess crown.
Current Dairy Princess Deena Migliazzo of Atwater will relinquish her crown to the winner, who will represent the dairy industry in Stanislaus, Merced, Tuolumne, Mariposa, Alameda, Monterey, San Benito, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties. Scholarships will be awarded.
The winner will represent the dairy industry in District 6 as a spokeswoman and in appearances at schools, fairs, industry meetings, service clubs, parades, and with the media. The princess also will participate in a week of training that includes industry tours, presentation and etiquette training.
Contestants must meet the following requirements:
▪ Be at least a junior in high school, and up to 21 years old by the June 18 contest date.
▪ Be unmarried.
▪ Family must own a dairy farm, work for the dairy industry or have a dairy-related background.

The contest, sponsored by the District 6 Dairy Princess Committee and the Milk Advisory Board, will be held at Our Lady of Assumption Hall in Turlock. Events will begin at 6 p.m. with a social hour, followed by the contest and dinner at 7 p.m.
