YESTERYEARS
25 YEARS AGO: With the aid of a helicopter, a Siller Brothers Aviation crew helped the city of Modesto install eight new light standards at John Thurman Field. Each standard weighed 6,500 pounds, and the method used protected the field from the use of a heavy crane and the cost was much less, a total of $160,000 to install, than if the city had used a crane.
