Roach problem prolongs Ceres restaurant’s closure
Teriyaki King, closed since Wednesday because of a roach infestation, failed additional food safety inspections Friday and Monday.
On Friday, the inspection of the restaurant at at 1600 E. Hatch Road turned up more bugs. Information on findings of Monday’s inspection was unavailable.
Teriyaki King’s permit has been suspended three times in the past nine months, all for roaches and other sanitation violations.
An inspector late Friday afternoon observed “12 live cockroaches” in all stages of development, according to a report posted on the Stanislaus County Department of Environmental Resources’ website.
