Learn more about Passover at Congregation Beth Shalom
The community is invited to learn more about the Jewish celebration of Passover and Seders on Sunday at Congregation Beth Shalom. Passover begins at sundown April 3 and ends April 11.
An adult education class about Passover and Seders will be held at 10:20 a.m. Sunday and taught by Rabbi Shalom Bochner. Later that day, a free Model Seder, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., will explore the 15 steps of the ancient Seder ritual with some of the traditional foods and songs.
“It is like a taste of the Seder, pun intended,” Bochner said in an email interview. “It is a sneak preview, a hands-on educational event to get us ready for the main observances a week later.”
To RSVP for the Model Seder, call (209) 571-6070 or email cbsmodesto@sbcglobal.net. CBS is at 1705 Sherwood Ave, Modesto, and is the only Jewish congregation in Stanislaus County.
