Knights Ferry car show returns for second year
The second Knights Ferry Classic Car Show will be April 4, just off Highways 108-120, about 12 miles east of Oakdale.
The daylong show begins at 10 a.m. and lasts until 4 p.m.; check-in time for entries begins at 7 a.m. It’s open to all comers.
More than a dozen awards will be presented, and all entrants will receive a dash plaque and tickets for coffee and a pastry. The first 50 to preregister will receive a free T-Shirt.
The event will include live music, as well as shuttle service from Knights Ferry Recreation Area parking spots to car show areas. Food and drink will be available, and 2015 Knights Ferry Classic Car Show T-shirts will be sold for $15.
Venue capacity for the car show is 225 to 240 vehicles, said Miles Shuper, one of the organizers. Last year, the event drew 180 entries, he said, and so far this year, about 140 have entered.
The entry fee is $30, and the deadline for entries is April 1. Late and event-day entries will be accepted if space permits. Entries received prior to the day of the show will be given priority in parking slots.
“We’re trying to keep everything on the Knights Ferry side of the river, as centralized as possible,” Shuper said. “Last year, we had 40 to 50 people who drove in that day as entries. We’re hoping to avoid that this year.”
The show is sponsored by the Knights Ferry Community Club, and proceeds are used for community improvements and increasing scholarships awarded to students of Knights Ferry Elementary School.
Information and registration forms are available by contacting Shuper at (559) 679-4337 or Chris Peterson at (209) 402 9831, or check the Knights Ferry Classic Car Show’s Facebook page.
