Modesto Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash involving a possibly stolen car that landed on its side on a west Modesto street.

The incident was reported shortly after 9 a.m. on Figaro Avenue, just east of Sutter Street.

A red Honda sports utility vehicle apparently hit a parked Ford Expedition before overturning and landing on its side. The occupant or occupants of the Honda left the scene.

While firefighters examined the wreckage, a white Ford Mustang sped up to the scene. Three people got out and one woman claimed the Honda belonged to her.

Modesto Police spokeswoman Heather Graves said a report on the incident will be forwarded to the hit-and-run investigator. No arrests had been made.
