Crash at Highway 99, Beckwith off-ramp hurts 2

A crash Saturday afternoon on the Beckwith Road off-ramp backed up traffic on southbound Highway 99 for more than an hour.

The 3:15 p.m. collision happened when a pick-up rear-ended a sedan as both exited the southbound lanes on the Beckwith Road off-ramp. Two riders in the sedan, a man and a woman, suffered minor to moderate injuries, said Modesto Fire Department Battalion Chief Hugo Patino.

Firefighters found traffic still tied up past Briggsmore Avenue when responding to a second wreck in another area an hour later, Patino said.
