Spring rolls in; a chance of rain heading to Modesto
Spring officially arrives at 3:45 p.m. today, but for those of us in the Northern San Joaquin Valley, it feels like it’s been here awhile.
Though temperatures are still about 10 degrees above normal for this time of year — Friday’s high is expected to hit 79 — cooler conditions lie ahead for the weekend. And, come Sunday evening, there’s a chance of desperately needed rain.
According to the National Weather Service, clouds will move into the area Friday night, then the temperature will drop to about 48 degrees. After a mostly sunny Saturday, more clouds move in Sunday bringing a chance of rain forecasters put at 20 percent.
A chance of showers is predicted Monday, when the high will reach a more typical 70 degrees, before clearing out Tuesday.
