The featured speaker and workshop facilitator will be Kathryn Miller Marshall, who will talk about “Understanding Why and How We Do What We Do: The Process and Principles of Genealogical Research,” “How to Find Ancestors – Venturing into the Unknown” and “Working Like an Old Pro: To the Wiki.” Cost is $20 in advance, $25 at the door. 50 YEARS AGO: The Stanislaus County Planning Commission asked the Board of Supervisors to give it the authority to initiate rezoning of unrestricted agricultural land where residential neighborhoods were developing. The commission took this action in response to its review of several zoning use permit requests for uses the members felt were incompatible with the neighboring farmland.
