Attic fire burns north Modesto home

A resident suffered some smoke inhalation Sunday afternoon when an attic fire at a north Modesto quickly spread before firefighters got it under control.

The fire occurred about 3 p.m. at the home on Woodwind Court, just south of Pelandale Avenue, a few blocks west of Highway 99. Firefighters arrived and found flames had spread to the home’s roof.

The firefighters put out the flames and made sure there were not any smoldering areas left behind. No other injuries were reported.

Investigators had not determined the cause the fire.
