Stanislaus cities vary in watering rules
Most cities in Stanislaus County limit outdoor watering to certain days of the week, but the rules could tighten as the drought goes on. How it stands now, according to city websites:
Modesto: Residents with odd-numbered addresses can water outside on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Even-numbered addresses can do it on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. No watering is permitted on Mondays or from noon to 7 p.m. on any day. Website: www.modestogov.com
Ceres: Odd-numbered addresses can water on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and even-numbered addresses on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. No watering is allowed on Mondays or from noon to 7 p.m. any day. Website: www.ci.ceres.ca.us
Turlock: Odd-numbered addresses can water on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and even-numbered addresses on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. No watering is allowed on Mondays or from noon to 6 p.m. any day. Website: www.ci.turlock.ca.us
Hughson: Odd-numbered addresses can water on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and even-numbered addresses on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. No watering is allowed on Mondays or from noon to 7 p.m. any day. Website: www.hughson.org
Oakdale: Odd-numbered addresses can water on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and even-numbered addresses on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. No watering is permitted from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on any day. Website: www.oakdalegov.com
Riverbank: Odd-numbered addresses can water on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and even-numbered addresses on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. No watering is allowed from noon to 7 p.m. on any day. Website: www.riverbank.org
Patterson: Odd-numbered addresses can water on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and even-numbered addresses on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Watering is banned from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on any day. Website: www.ci.patterson.ca.us
Newman: Outdoor watering is banned from 1 to 6 p.m. from April 1 through Nov. 15. The city does not limit watering to certain days of the week. Website: www.cityofnewman.com
NOTE: Modesto operates the water systems for Salida, Grayson, Del Rio, Empire, Waterford, Hickman, and small parts of Ceres and Turlock. The same rules on watering apply.
