The Stanislaus County Home & Garden Show began its three-day run at Modesto Centre Plaza on Friday, offering homeowners and future homeowners the opportunity to visit several vendors in one place at one time.

Attendees can get tips and new ideas to help improve and beautify their homes and yards.

The event also includes the Food Truck Wars competition, which gives visitors a chance to try several gourmet food trucks, and kids activities.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Centre Plaza is at 1000 L St.

‎Admission is $3 general, but liking the event organizer’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/ModestoHomeShow, produces a free ticket.
