Info: The Patterson Public Works Department is holding a local tree planting event to celebrate California Arbor Week. Trees will be planted by volunteers. 75 YEARS AGO: The first session of The Bee’s annual spring cooking school was to be held the next day in the Strand Theater at 2p.m. Host Katherine Kitchen, home economist for McClatchy Newspapers, presented a parade of spring foods. The program was free, and all Modesto district women were invited to attend.
