Save Mart launches grocery planning, shopping, savings app
Struggling to come up with a dinner menu? Tired of wading through wads of grocery coupons? Know there was a reward coming but can’t find it? No worries, Save Mart shoppers. There’s an app for that.
The company announced the launch Wednesday of the Save Mart smartphone app for stores throughout the Central Valley, Sacramento and Reno. The Lucky You app will be available March 18 for Bay Area Lucky stores.
“This comprehensive platform establishes a shopping profile for each member – providing them a fully-integrated space to plan meals by browsing our online recipe database, creating shopping lists, clipping electronic coupons and viewing the weekly ad – simplifying the shopping experience when they arrive at the store,” said co-President Nicole Pesco, head of strategy and branding.
The innovative project links retail rewards with what the company calls the next-generation grocery shopping experience.
Program members accrue airline-style points that can be redeemed for in-store rewards as well. E-coupons and rewards – selected in the app or online – are moved into a shopper’s account and redeemed automatically at checkout as qualified items are purchased. Purchases add points that can be redeemed for special offers or saved for a discount on the next purchase.
The app allows grocery planning, clipping coupons and redeeming points throughout the day via shoppers’ phones, the company release notes.
As a kickoff Wednesday and Thursday, every Save Mart member registration will result in a $1 donation to local schools. Register at a local store, download the app through the Apple Store or Google Play, or sign up online at www.savemart.com.
Those who choose not to use the app can still participate in the rewards program via a card or phone number. Accrued point balances will appear at the bottom of receipts at checkout.
