Modesto Christian celebrates Dr. Seuss
At the beginning of March every year, thousands of schools and classrooms around the nation participate in Read Across America Day in honor of legendary author Dr. Seuss. One of those schools is Modesto Christian, which once again transformed itself into the world of Dr. Seuss. Teachers and students dressed up as their favorite characters and each classroom featured different activities related to reading – and Dr. Seuss. There were also games and reading times at lunch and during recesses for all the students at the elementary school. During an assembly after lunch, students demonstrated their own Dr. Seuss knowledge during a trivia-style contest. All the events were designed to support Dr. Seuss’ passion to inspire children to read and develop a lifelong love of reading.
