BURNING PLANNED NEAR LONG BARN
If conditions permit, the Stanislaus National Forest will conduct a seven-day broadcast underburn of about 173 acres on the Mi-Wok Ranger District starting Monday. The project area is a half-mile south of Long Barn on Forest Road 3N90, near the 3N01 intersection. Smoke may be visible from Highway 108 in the Mi-Wuk Village and Long Barn areas. Prescribed burns are conducted under precise weather and fuel moisture conditions. The goal of the burn is to create defensible space near communities and provide safe and effective areas for suppressing fire, such as fuel breaks, through a low-intensity burn. For more information, call the Mi-Wok Ranger District at (209) 586-3234.
