When does a car become a classic?

Simply using age as the gauge, we’re hearing the rule of thumb that it must be at least 25 years old. So by that measure, the field of classic cars has just entered the ’90s.

What say you, car buffs – which vehicles from, say, the mid-1970s to 1990 – are the new classics, the vehicles you most love?

And what cars made more recently, or coming soon, do you think are the ones to watch, the ones destined to be treasured in the decades ahead?

Email your thoughts to The Modesto Bee’s Deke Farrow at jfarrow@modbee.com. Your comments may be used in an upcoming Graffiti Summer special section.
