Where’s the cheapest gas in Modesto? The Bee wants to hear from you

With gas prices skyrocketing across the country, motorists are searching for the cheapest places to fill up their tanks.

The average price per gallon in Modesto is $5.05, which is 67.1 cents per gallon higher than this time in February and $1.51 per gallon higher than in March 2021. Price reports from GasBuddy show the cheapest station in Modesto priced gas at at $4.55/g on March 7, while the most expensive came in at $5.89/g, for a difference of $1.34/g.

As of noon Tuesday, March 8, the cheapest place to get gas in Modesto was the ARCO station on Crows Landing Road near Whitmore Avenue, according to modestogasprices.com. Drivers will fork over $4.69 per gallon if they pay in cash, the same price they would pay at the Sports Stop on Yosemite Boulevard and Pasadena Avenue in Waterford.

A few places were charging a dime more, including the Stop and Save at McHenry and East Union avenues in north Modesto and the Mobil station at West Orangeburg Avenue and Carver Road in central Modesto.

Other stations under $5 per gallon include the Phillin’ Station at Second Street near Sperry Avenue, and the ARCO on Sperry Avenue near Park Center Drive. Both are in Patterson.
