Coronavirus update, Nov. 14: Stanislaus nears 1,400 deaths. Vaccine clinics announced
Stanislaus County reported seven more deaths Friday due to COVID-19, bringing the overall total to 1,387, the Health Services Agency reported.
It was the county’s first update to COVID-19 numbers since Tuesday.
The county reported 326 additional cases, bringing the overall total number of cases to 79,966. The county has 983,259 negative test results and 76,949 people who are presumed recovered.
Other details:
Mask order threshold: The county order for masks in most indoor public places is expected to end when the case rate per 100,000 residents drops below 20. The rate was at 20.8 as of Friday, the lowest over the past three weeks.
Hospital cases: The county’s five hospitals had 124 patients with confirmed COVID-19 as of Friday. This included 28 adults in intensive care.
Positivity rates: On the state dashboard Saturday, where numbers reflect the previous day, the seven-day positivity rate was 6.4%, a decrease of 0.9% from the prior seven days. The rolling seven-day rate a month ago was 7.3%.
Vaccines: As of Friday, 89.3% of county residents 12 and older had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 63.1% were fully vaccinated, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The age limit is now down to 5, but data on this younger group is not yet available.
The county has public vaccine clinics that each offer all three types: Pfizer (5 and older), Moderna (18+) and Johnson & Johnson (18+). The schedule through Nov. 20:

California has administered 56,386,129 vaccine doses as of Friday, according to the CDC tracker. The state ranks 13th in the country, with 142,706 doses per 100,000 residents. Vermont ranks first, West Virginia 50th among the states.
It’s important to note that if you’ve had part or full vaccination, wearing a mask and keeping with all the safety precautions like social distancing in some circumstances is still recommended by the Centers for Disease for Control and Prevention. Also, those who have had COVID-19 still need to be vaccinated.
