Coronavirus update, Oct. 16: Stanislaus adds five deaths. Vaccine clinics scheduled
Stanislaus County added five deaths to COVID-19 on Friday, for a total of 1,315 since the pandemic emerged in spring 2020.
Positive tests rose by 174 to 76,171, the county Health Services Agency said. Stanislaus also has 908,890 negative test results and 73,326 people who are presumed recovered.
Other details:
Hospital cases: The county’s five hospitals had 123 patients with confirmed COVID-19 on Friday, up from 115 on Thursday. The count had topped 300 during the worst of the summer surge. Adults in intensive care rose by two Friday to 39.
Positivity rates: On the state dashboard Friday, where numbers reflect the previous day, the seven-day positivity rate was 7.1%, up from 7.1% the previous day and an increase of 0.4% from the prior seven days. The rolling seven-day rate a month ago was 9.5%.
Vaccines: As of Friday, 85% of eligible county residents (those 12 and older) had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 58.9% were fully vaccinated, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
