Coronavirus update, Oct. 12: Stanislaus adds 1 death since Friday. Hospital cases dip
Stanislaus County reported a single death to COVID-19 in an update Monday that included the weekend. Hospital cases continued to drop.
A total of 1,302 residents have died from the virus since April 2020, the county Health Services Agency said.
Positive tests stood at 75,597, up 378 from Friday. Stanislaus also has 898,417 negative test results and 72,767 people who are presumed recovered.
Other details:
Hospital cases: The county’s five hospitals had 105 patients with confirmed COVID-19 on Monday, compared with 124 on Friday and 300-plus in late summer. Adults in intensive care rose by one to 33.
Positivity rates: On the state dashboard Monday, where numbers reflect the previous day, the seven-day positivity rate was 7.0%, an increase of 0.6% from the prior seven days. The rolling seven-day rate a month ago was 10.3%.
Vaccines: As of Monday, 83.3% of eligible county residents (those 12 and older) had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 57.4% were fully vaccinated, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
