Authorities identify pedestrian killed at Fresno's Blackstone/Olive intersection

The pedestrian killed near Blackstone and Olive avenues last week has been identified.

Fresno County Coroner’s Office spokesperson Tony Botti identified the victim as Mitchell Wright, 39, of Fresno.

The crash happened around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, June 25.

Police said a car was traveling south on Blackstone near Olive when it struck the victim. The victim was walking outside the crosswalk in a poorly-lit area, police say.

Wright was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Officers did not suspect the driver of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
