A man who said he lost more than $20,000 gambling threatened to bomb a Lake Tahoe-area casino, Nevada sheriff’s officials reported.

The gambler called Harrah’s Casino in Stateline, Nevada, with the threat just before 10 a.m. Monday, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

“Yeah, I just lost over $20,000 at your stupid casino, and I am going to destroy it now,” the caller said. “I am going to bomb it. This is a bomb threat.”

Casino security notified the sheriff’s office about the threat, and police arrested Seth Maybee of South Lake Tahoe at 1:43 a.m. Tuesday, officials said.

Maybee faces charges of making a bomb threat and making terroristic threats, deputies said.

Sheriff Dan Coverley praised casino security and the South Lake Tahoe Police Department for their assistance in the investigation.

Harvey’s Resort Hotel and Casino in Stateline was destroyed by a bomb in August 1980, the FBI said.
