Popular vintage clothing store to open location in Merced. Here’s when and where
A popular vintage clothing shop is expanding to Merced.
Queer-owned Ambition Vintage — which is known for its curated collection of ’90s and 2000s pieces in Modesto — is opening a second location in Merced.
“I heard Merced was in need of another vintage store,” owner Megan Knoll wrote in an Instagram post on Saturday, Dec. 27. “And I go where the girls & gays need me.”
Here’s what we know about the location opening in Merced:
What is Ambition Vintage?
Ambition Vintage is a popular vintage and Y2K clothing store located at 1057 West Orangeburg Ave., Modesto.
The Modesto shop is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends.
What’s for sale at Ambition Vintage?
The store is known for its stylish, affordable vintage and 2000s-inspired pieces, including dresses, accessories, handbags and more, sourced from a variety of local sellers.
Prices vary depending on the item and seller.
A highlight of the store is the large Italian charm table, where shoppers can sit and browse hundreds of charms.
Each charm is $1, and it typically takes 15 to 20 charms to make a complete bracelet.
The new Merced location will feature the same charm table as the Modesto store, Knoll told the Merced Sun-Star.
Where and when will the new store open?
According to Knoll, Ambition Vintage will open at 1573 West 18th St., Merced.
Opening day is Feb. 13, with store hours from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
