California has new millionaire after liquor store sells $50M lottery ticket
There’s a brand new multi-millionaire in southern California after a liquor store sold a winning lottery ticket worth millions, officials said.
The SuperLotto Plus jackpot ticket had all six matching numbers in the Saturday, Oct. 11 drawing: 3, 13, 27, 32, 39, and the Mega Number was 4. The lucky winner will take home $50 million, state lottery officials said.
The winning ticket was sold at Village Spirit Shoppe at 4601 Lakeview Canyon Road in Westlake Village, about a 40-mile drive west from Los Angeles.
It isn’t the first time the store has sold a big winner. In March of 2021, Village Spirit Shoppe sold a scratch-off ticket worth $10 million, officials told the Fresno Bee via email.
Two second-place winners will also take home $20,938 after matching five numbers but not the Mega Number. Those tickets were sold in Chula Vista and Nipton.
The jackpot win resets the Wednesday, Oct. 15 drawing’s jackpot to $7 million.
It was the 44th drawing since the last time a ticket with all six winning numbers was sold, KABC reported.
The odds of matching all five numbers plus the Mega Number is one in 41,416,353, lottery officials said.
