Best pastries in California? Bakery with savory and sweet treats tops a new Yelp list
The top pastry shop in California serves flaky croissants, flavorful macarons, and other sweet and savory treats, according to a new Yelp list released on Monday, Nov. 7.
Yelp reviewers can’t seem to stop raving about Artelice Patisserie, a French dessert shop and bakery in Los Angeles, that was recognized as the best spot in the state for pastries.
“This bakery in a small corner on Sawtelle (Boulevard) creates some of the most stunning baked goods I’ve seen in West LA,” a Yelp reviewer said about the West Los Angeles location.
The pastry shop also has a location in Burbank.
Artelice Patisserie offers an array of baked goods and desserts like macarons, tartes, eclairs, cookies and cakes.
One Yelp reviewer recommended ordering the exotic, a pistachio sponge cake with “mango, banana and passion fruit insert with Caribbean cocktail pineapple, coconut, lemon and passion fruit mousse.”
“Tropical explosion, but again not overly sweet! And very moist,” the reviewer wrote.
It also offers sweet and savory croissants, including plain butter, pain au chocolat, almond, cinnamon, ham and cheese, and leek- and Parmesan-filled croissants.
“I love almond croissants but wanted to start with a classic butter one. It was divine, the best I’ve ever had. So airy, flaky and lightly crispy. The croissants are big, too,” another reviewer wrote.
To find the best pastries Yelp looked at U.S. businesses in the food and restaurants category that had a large number of reviews mentioning “pastry” and “pastries.” Then each place was ranked based on the total volume and ratings of reviews.
