A 31-year-old Anaheim man faces a charge of trying to kidnap a 13-year-old girl walking home from school March 31 following his arrest in a police pursuit, California cops say.

He tried to shove the girl into the passenger side of his truck at 2:45 p.m. in the 2600 block of West Ball Road on her way home from junior high school, police said in a news release.

On Friday, April 8, officers spotted the man’s pickup truck in Brea and tried to pull him over at 2:30 p.m., police said.

The man drove off, leading to a police pursuit until California Highway Patrol officers disabled his truck with a spike strip on Interstate 5, police said.

Police ask that anyone with information on the incident call detective Jacob Medina at 714 765-1419 or OC Crime Stoppers at 855-847-6227.
