A 27-year-old San Jose woman called 911 to report that she had killed her mother, California police said.

Officers who responded to the call at 12:24 p.m. Sunday, March 20, discovered the woman’s mother dead of a stab wound, police said in a news release.

Police arrested Cheryl Ann Yee at the home on suspicion of homicide, the release said. A motive for the slaying remains under investigation.

Authorities have not released the dead woman’s name.

It is the city’s third homicide of 2022.
