Did you see it? Fighter jets perform Merced flyover salute to healthcare, frontline workers
Whether gathered in backyards, parks, or on the side of the road, thousands of Merced residents took time out of their morning Wednesday to cheer on four F-15C Eagle Tactical Fighter Jets who passed over the city.
The jets performed the Merced flyover to honor healthcare workers, first responders and those working on the frontlines in the fight against the coronavirus.
People gathered outside Merced Medical Center to watch the jets fly in formation over the hospital. The jets performing the flyover were with the 144th Fighter Wing out of Fresno and took off from California Air National Guard Base, Fresno.
The jets are part of a nationwide salute to healthcare workers, frontline workers and first responders by the Air Force.
After flying over Merced, the jets were scheduled to continue north to Sacramento before flying west to the Bay Area and south to the Los Angeles area. From there, the jets were scheduled to return to the Fresno base.
