‘Very dangerous’ flamethrower, 4 AR-15-style rifles found in California home, cops say
A search of a home in Camarillo turned up a veritable arsenal of firearms and ammunition, including a flamethrower, KTLA reports.
“We’re talking about a device that shoots out flames probably 15 to 25 feet,” said Deputy Christopher Dyer of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, KCBS reported. “It looks very dangerous.”
A sticker depicting a mouth full of sharp teeth decorated the camouflage-style flamethrower, the Ventura County Star reported.
Investigators also found four AR-15 style rifles, three disassembled assault rifles, body armor, six handguns and 20,000 rounds of ammunition, along with still more firearms, KTLA reports. Authorities found two more AR-15 style rifles in a storage locker.
The search also uncovered heroin and drug paraphernalia, KCBS reported.
Investigators say two of the firearms are illegally manufactured “ghost guns” without serial numbers, the Ventura County Star reported.
Ventura County sheriff’s deputies arrested Christopher Oleksik, 38, on suspicion of being a narcotic addict in possession of firearms, possession of a controlled substance, under the influence of a controlled substance, manufacture assault rifles and possessing an assault rifle, KTLA reported.
Oleksik has been released on bail, KCBS reported. He is expected in court in two weeks.
