Want to start or expand a business in Modesto? Forums will examine workforce, other needs
The city of Modesto will hold six gatherings in August for public input on how to boost the local economy.
The comments will help officials craft the Economic Development Strategic Plan, expected to be done by year’s end.
The sessions will deal with training workers, supporting entrepreneurs, affordable housing and other needs. All but one of them will be over Zoom, with no charge. The other, on the real estate market, will be live and have a fee.
The details:
Aug. 7, 5:30 to 9 p.m.: Modesto is this year’s host for the annual Central Valley Real Estate Summit. It will be at Modesto Centre Plaza, 1000 L St. Panelists will speak on market-rate and subsidized housing and how local governments can support the industry. The Modesto Chamber of Commerce is a co-sponsor. Tickets are $5, plus a $2.18 fee for purchase on eventbrite.com.
