85°C Bakery sets opening date in Modesto, with limited hours to start

Residents are excited about 85°C Bakery coming to Modesto. After going for the first time in Stockton six weeks ago, I don’t blame them.

I saw a Reddit thread a couple of days ago asking when it would open. I’ve also had a few comments on my TikTok video asking for an update.

You don’t have to wait much longer, Modesto, because 85°C Bakery will begin its soft-opening phase Monday, May 18.

The company’s marketing team told me that during this phase, business hours will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The grand opening will be Friday, June 12, at 9 a.m.

85°C Bakery originated in Taipei City, Taiwan, in 2004. There are more than 1,000 stores worldwide.

When you walk into the store, all the pastries, desserts and sandwiches (aside from cake slices) are displayed with prices. Customers grab their selections and put them on a cafeteria-style tray.

For the most part, breads and pastries range from $2 to $4, cake slices are around $4 each, and coffee and tea drinks run from $3.70 to $6.55.

Drinks are ordered from a kiosk at the front of the store and are made as you shop.
