See behind the scenes in kitchen at Modesto restaurant as chef preps special menu
At the end of 2025, I conducted a poll series where you, readers, determined the best coffee shop, pizza place, taco truck, hangout spot, catering company and home kitchen in Stanislaus County.
I informed you that the series was going to lead to a community-style event. After much consideration, it was determined that instead of being live, the “event” would look more like a pre-recorded, long-form video featuring one of the winners.
Think: “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives”-style.
The Twisted Pig on Coffee Road in Modesto tied for first in the poll to determine the best hangout spot in the county.
I went behind the scenes at the restaurant/bar to get insight on its speakeasy and the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day event, and the chef/manager showed me how he makes items on his seasonal menu.
