Chicken Ranch Casino Resort in Tuolumne County has been up and running for a year and a half, and now it’s the original building’s turn to undergo construction.

“The OG,” as Chicken Ranch is calling it, will undergo a full remodel to update the building and add more games, according to a news release. It will close beginning at 2 a.m. Jan. 5 with a reopening planned for spring.

“When the OG reopened in August 2024, one month after the debut of the new Chicken Ranch Casino Resort, gaming occupancy was intentionally reduced to roughly half of its previous capacity,” the release said.

When it reopens, both sides of “the OG” building will be activated and will feature an enhanced gaming floor layout with additional machines such as Wheel of Fortune Cash of Reels, Lucky Lemmings Stampede and 5x3x2x Red Hot Tamales. Sixteen electronic table games will also be added.

It will remain an 18-and-older smoking property and will still not serve alcohol.

Throughout the remodel, the bingo hall will remain open and continue to run regular sessions, according to the release.
