Best in Stanislaus County poll: It’s taco time. Nominate the truck with the best
The Modesto Bee’s “best in Stanislaus County” series has produced two standout businesses so far: Flora Cafe with the area’s best coffee and Luigi’s with the best pizza.
Now, it’s taco time.
I’ve been looking forward to this highly debated topic: Which taco truck in the county is the best? For this installment of the series, we are looking at trucks and trailers only. No sit-down restaurants or taquerías.
Why? Because I have a feeling it’s going to be hard enough to dwindle the options down with as many trucks we are fortunate to be able to choose from in Stanislaus County.
Remember, this poll is separate from Best in Modesto and will be tied to a community event at the beginning of 2026. That event will be announced at the end of the series.
Nominations will begin Tuesday, Dec. 2, and end on Thursday, Dec. 4.
Finalists will be named Friday, and voting will last through Sunday, Dec. 7. The winner will be featured Monday.
Nominate your favorite taco truck
I don’t discriminate against tacos. I’ll eat them all. And I don’t envy you, readers. I would not be able to nominate just one taco truck.
Luckily, you don’t have to. There is not a limit on how many trucks you can nominate. But to help in your decision-making, think of these things: Does the truck offer something others don’t? Do they make their own tortillas? Does the meat have blow-your-mind flavor? What sets it apart?
