Need holiday cash? Modesto-area businesses are looking for seasonal employees
The holidays are around the corner, and several businesses in the Modesto and Manteca areas are beginning the hiring process for seasonal employees.
Some retailers are hosting hiring events between Wednesday and Saturday, while others have posted opportunities online.
Here are businesses accepting applications for seasonal positions:
Bass Pro Shops
Bass Pro Shops is looking to fill 55 positions at its Manteca and Rocklin locations for the holiday season, according to a news release.
The outdoor and sporting goods store will hold a hiring event Wednesday and Thursday at both locations. Those interested in applying at the Manteca store can do so on the Bass Pro website before visiting 1356 Bass Pro Drive between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. those two days.
Interested candidates who cannot attend the hiring event can contact the store directly at 209-825-8400.
Bass Pro is hiring in departments including apparel, camping, gifts, fishing, footwear and cashier.
The starting pay ranges from $16.50 to $19.75 per hour.
Benefits include merchandise discounts up to 50% off, holiday and vacation pay as well as health, dental and life insurance programs for eligible team members, according to the release.
Vintage Faire Mall
The Vintage Faire Mall is hosting a holiday hiring event Saturday to meet the demand of the busy holiday season, according to a news release.
The event will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the lower level of the mall at the center court.
Mall stores that are hiring and involved in the event are Carters, Champs Sports, Cinnabon, Claire’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Foot Locker, Foot Locker Kids and Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, the release said. More employers may join.
Applicants should bring a resume and a state-issued photo ID or driver’s license.
Lucky You Orchards
An organic, you-pick apple orchard in Ripon is looking for a weekend farm ambassador for the fall season.
Lucky You Orchards, at 21611 Carrolton Road in Ripon, pays $17 per hour for this role. Hours are Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and the season runs through mid-November.
According to Lucky You’s website, farm ambassadors greet guests at the check-in stand, help with set up and clean up, pour fresh juice and share farm information, educate guests about the farm’s organic apples and use a Square system for sales.
Applicants must be 16 or older. The job comes with “delicious orchard perks” and an opportunity to extend the season with a farmers market role, according to the site.
