Greek restaurant opening its second Stanislaus County location. When is Modesto’s coming?
A Greek street-food chain soon will open its second location in Stanislaus County, followed shortly by a third.
Nick the Greek has announced a grand-opening date in Ceres Gateway for Dec. 3.
As part of the event, the restaurant at 4213 Mitchell Road will offer free lunch for all patrons from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Guests can arrive during those hours and receive one complimentary entree per person, including options like gyros (Greek pita sandwiches) and souvlakis (Greek meat skewers).
Nick the Greek’s regular hours in Ceres will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
Modesto soon will see its own location of the chain in the Wood Colony Plaza shopping center on Pelandale Avenue. But the opening date has been pushed to early 2025, according to the company.
Nick the Greek is a Mediterranean street food restaurant established in San Jose by three cousins of Greek descent, all named Nick.
It specializes in gyros and pitas stuffed with fries, souvlakis, bowls, soups, salads and desserts, including baklava.
Jerry Ajlouny is the owner of the Riverbank and Modesto franchises. He also owns locations in Livermore and Castro Valley.
The Ceres restaurant is corporate owned, according to the company.
