Twain Harte '08 chamber elected
Doug Halvorsen of The Harte Collection, an antique and gift store, is the 2008 president of the Twain Harte Chamber of Commerce. George Farrell of The Sportsman Coffee Shop is treasurer, and Jana Bumgarner of J&J Recording is secretary.
Other board members are past president Yvonne Hilton; Cheryl Clark of US Bank; Sunny Deardorff of 7-Eleven of Twain Harte; Rebecca Halvorsen of The Harte Collection; Rohn Mein and Brad Menary of Business First; Tony Monteverde of the Courtside Bar & Grill; Gwen Rogers of The Elegant Cottage; Lonnie Taylor of Big Daddy's Smokin' BBQ; Vic Utterback of the Wildwood Inn; and Michele Vinci.
The Modesto-based law firm of Curtis & Arata announces the addition of another attorney, Colleen Van Egmond-Avila.
Egmond-Avila received her bachelor's degree from the University of California at Davis in 2002, and her juris doctor from McGeorge School of Law in in 2005. She was admitted to the bar in May 2006 and joined the law firm in September 2007. Her areas of emphasis are insurance defense, civil litigation, business litigation, public entity defense and agriculture law.
Reliable Tow has been chosen to receive the 2007 Towman ACE Award. The ACE is awarded by American Towman Magazine and co-sponsored by Allstate Motor Club, Asurion, Coach-Net, Cross Country Automotive Services, American Towing Alliance and Road America.
The ACE Award has put Reliable Tow, with locations in Oakdale, Modesto and Riverbank, in the top 1 percent of the towing industry for service, reliability and professionalism. Reliable Tow received the commemorative ACE belt buckle and certificate at the Baltimore Convention Center during the American Towman Exposition on Nov. 18.
