New cookie store opens in Modesto. Where and what does it offer?

Since its inception in 2018, Dirty Dough Cookies has opened more than 60 locations across the United States. Four are located in California, but none were in the Central Valley.

That changed this mnth, when the franchise opened its doors in Modesto with a soft opening. The store is located at 3848 McHenry Ave., Suite 305, next to Ramen 101 in the North Point Landing shopping center.

“I’m just glad to see the community, looking forward to seeing everyone,” said Modesto franchisee Salinder Singh.

According to the company’s website, the cookies are described as a “combination of layers, mix-ins, or filling with dough.”

While Dirty Dough and its competitor, Crumbl Cookies, both sell cookies, the shops provide different offerings. While Crumbl’s menu consists of weekly offerings, Dirty Dough offers classic and weekly menus.

The five cookies on the classic menu are:

  • Chocolate Chip Cookie

  • Gluten-Friendly Chocolate Chip Cookie

  • Cookies n Creme: a vanilla cookie loaded with Oreo cookies chunks and white chocolate chips, stuffed with creme filling and white icing on top of the cookie.

  • The Reverse: a fudge filling wrapped in a chocolate cookie that’s later triple wrapped with a peanut butter cookie and topped with a chocolate drizzle and crushed Resse’s Peanut Butter Cups.

  • Brookie: a combination of a brownie and chocolate chip cookie stuffed with caramel filling.

Rotating every Friday, the weekly menu offers four different cookie flavors.

There are four cookie options that customers can choose from. A single cookie ($4.99), a pack of four ($17.99), half a dozen (six cookies for $24.99) and a dozen (12 cookies for $47.99). The prices do not include taxes.

Singh said the weekly rotation for the rest of the year has been planned out. Some cookies from the weekly rotation may be offered again depending on their popularity and customer demand.

“We like to keep a big variety throughout the year, but there are sometimes where they’re popular and customers demand a little more,” he said.

Additionally, customers can also quench their thirst with a variety of beverages. According to the company’s website, the catalog of drinks includes:

  • Refreshers

  • Dirty sodas: More than 10 drink options that involve a soda flavor being mixed with various syrups and creamers.

  • Shakes: There are four shake flavors including The Terry Shake and Double Trouble Shake.

  • Coffee and Frappes: There is a Wandering Bear Cold Brew drink and three frappe flavors including a mocha, caramel and java chip frappe.

Each of the refreshers, dirty sodas and frappes costs $4.99. The shakes cost $8.99 and the Wandering Bear Cold Brew drink costs $3.49.

The store will have its grand opening on June 29. The first 1,000 customers will receive a free cookie. There will also be a giveaway for multiple prizes, including free cookies for a year. Customers buying cookies on the day of the grand opening will be put into a raffle for prizes.

“We’re gonna have a whole event here on that weekend for the grand opening, just to ensure that the whole community hears about it,” Singh said.

The store hours are from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
